Why go to Counselling?
Counselling can help you if you feel stuck in your life. Maybe a significant event has happened or strong feelings have been building up for a long time and you want to take some action. There can be many reasons past and present why you might want to enter counselling.
This is a list below clients have discussed with me in counselling but is not exhaustive.
Abuse,Abortion,Anxiety,Anger,Bereavement,Bullying,Disability,Eating disorders, Panic attacks Relationships with partners, children, friends and family, Separation and divorce, self harm, sleep problems, suicidal thoughts and work related issues.
What is Counselling?
It is a therapeutic relationship between the Client and the Counsellor, whereby I work with what you bring. It is a space to explore and focus on what is coming up for you and it can help to manage stress buy expressing emotions in a safe environment by simply talking things through. It is not an advice giving service but a relationship offered based on trust, value for the client and honesty.
What to expect on the first session?
After the initial consultation, there is no obligation to continue if you decide not to. Together we can look at past and present unresolved life experiences that have made you consider counselling. I will discuss confidentiality with you and answer any questions you may have. Together we can decide if my counselling practice is right for you.
